Isn’t that something? Treating a person with dignity and respect is all it takes. I think that speaks to working class values more than anything." Three of the seven Lucky Gods from the full set of Satsuma ceramic buttons dating from c.1900 - as confirmed by another client and our neighbourhood’s ‘im-off-the-telly” Mark Hill, the Antiques Road Show’s 20th century ceramics expert. They were sourced for us by our button pusher, Martin of the Button Queen. They are lying on the silk twill lining we printed with an engraving of the seven gods together. One of our specialities is custom printed linings, that we achieve with husband and wife team Dan and Louise Hatley.

Kate was a student at the Royal School of Needlework when she embroidered the gold silk lattice across Nile’s jacket front. The “imperfect” brief was a challenge for her but it had to be that way as only Lucky Gods can achieve perfection.
